Senior Intraday Trader (m/f)
With new investments in the most advanced green transformation services in energy, GEN-I is setting new goals in global markets. Management and optimization of flexible energy sources (such as battery storage systems, solar power plants, etc.) and building a portfolio of PPA contracts, which enable new renewable energy production sources to enter the market in the SEE region and more broadly across Central Europe, are highlighted as inspiring and rapidly growing pillars of their business.
Challenges:
- Optimize GEN-I’s expanding portfolio, which includes cross-border transfer capacities (CBTCs), power purchase agreements (PPAs), batteries, and other intraday power positions.
- Identify, develop, and execute trading strategies in European intraday and balancing markets.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with trading counterparties.
- Perform detailed analyses of market trends, price dynamics, and fundamental market changes.
- Collaborate with the algorithmic trading department to develop and refine automated trading strategies.
- Enhance trading processes to improve efficiency and strengthen risk management protocols.
- Contribute to the advancement of trading development projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
- Experience: minimum 5 years of trading experience within European energy markets, with a strong focus on power trading and portfolio optimization. Extensive expertise in European power markets and regulatory frameworks is expected.
- Proven track record of successful trading and portfolio management in the power trading market.
- Analytical skills: basic analytical skills, capability of leveraging advanced analytical tools and techniques.
- Technological Proficiency: strong technical skills, including experience with trading platforms, data analysis software, and programming languages.
- Proactivity: proactive approach, ability to develop innovative trading strategies, along with strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Language Skills: fluent in English; proficiency in additional foreign languages is desirable.
